British Powerlifting AGM

It is the final week before our AGM and there’s a few dates that are pertinent to highlight:
- Thursday pre-AGM open discussion 6pm
- Voting closes Friday 10am
- Sunday 10am the AGM will open
I have uploaded my CEO report, as have most of the home nations along with our board reports. We all recommend members read these reports and we welcome you to join us on Thursday at 6pm with questions, queries or further discussion points.

safeguarding in powerlifting update
Following an 18 month review and update on our Safeguarding policy, we have published the first draft. The reason we have published this in draft form is because this is a working and active document that has been applied in recent months that will constantly be evolving with the growth and development of both British Powerlifting and IPF. This policy reflects recent IPF safeguarding changes that were voted through in the General Assembly, June 2026.
It also highlights additional safe practices using photography during competitions for both lifters, officials and spectators.
Our aim is now to provide education and develop more specific best practice guidelines for our members and volunteers in many areas (for example: coaching, refereeing, photography, digital & social media, international events etc).
I want to thank the interim Safeguarding Lead, Katrina Sweatman, and the safeguarding committee for their dedication and relentless work on improving safety and safe practices in British Powerlifting. We will continue to provide updates on the developments as they come.
