British Powerlifting AGM
12 days to go
On July 4, British Powerlifting published a formal notice of the upcoming AGM to be held online on July 26 2026. There is information on the published AGM page.
The motions have now closed for comments and amendments and the voting is now open.
There are currently several reports on the AGM page with more to follow this week as home nations, sub committees and I develop our reports for you to read.
I would recommend reading the reports to help inform your votes. The reports can be found in the boxes sitting just under the motions boxes as you scroll through the page.
We do urge each of our members to click on the AGM page and read the motions put in along with some of the comments raise already. This is a valuable chance for you to be part of change.
We have also uploaded some of the job descriptions discussed in one of the motions for transparency on what we believe is an effective change for the growth of the organisation.
Please note, we will also be holding an open discussion of the motions for BP AGM 2026 on Thursday 23 July 2026, 18:00. This time has changed to provide the best opportunity for people to attend. This is to be held while voting is still open so members can talk through the issues before they finalise or change their intended vote before submitting it.
Welsh Powerlifting championships
Welsh Champs 2026 was a huge success, being the largest competition that Welsh Powerlifting have hosted. Having just shy of 100 athletes compete across 2 days, breaking 31 single lift records and 15 total records, the level of performance was incredible. The lifting just gets better year on year, with average GL being up 15.39% since 2021. The support from the crowd and the energy was insane, having a packed out theatre for virtually the entirety of the weekend.
Looking back across the years we are really proud of where we have come as a division. The standard of competitions we hold has grown tenfold, along with the experience we provide to lifters. This could not happen without our committee and every single volunteer that steps up when we need them. And thank you to our sponsors who support us in delivering such high level events.
