British Powerlifting Record Keeper
Reports to: CEO of British Powerlifting
Role Purpose
The Record Keeper is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of British Powerlifting’s official records.
This includes updating records following national, British and international championships, verifying lifter eligibility by age class, and ensuring all record data is accurately published and accessible via the British Powerlifting website.
Key Responsibilities
Results and Records Management
- Upload British Championship results to the British Powerlifting website.
- Update British records based on results from national, British and international championships, and upload updates to the British Powerlifting website.
- Generate British record certificates for new British records and upload these to the British Powerlifting website.
- Supply British record data in CSV format to competition hosts upon request.
- Keep up to date with all applicable performance records from the devolved nations and divisions, liaising with divisional record keepers where needed.
- Keep up to date with all Special Olympics categories.
- Help publicise achievements, potentially through a regular “Top-Up Tuesday” style update or something similar.
Age Class Verification
- Check date of birth information for lifters listed in the Open category, as they may also qualify for other age classes.
- Check date of birth information for lifters listed in the U18 category, as they may also fall into the U16 class.
- Check date of birth information for lifters listed in the M4 category, as they may also fall into the M5 or M6 class.
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data.
- Good working knowledge of powerlifting age and weight class categories.
- Highly competent in using spreadsheets and CSV data formats.
- Comfortable using website content management systems, or willing to learn.
- Able to work to deadlines around competition schedules.
Desirable
- Prior experience with powerlifting competition administration or officiating.
- Familiarity with British Powerlifting’s records and classification system.
Time Commitment
Due to the nature of the role, we expect the successful candidate to allocate approximately 1–2 working hours each week to the role.
Certain key periods may be busier than others, particularly around international championships and national championships.
