British Powerlifting is very sad to announce the sudden passing of Roger Powell at the age of 86. Roger was a stalwart of the North Midlands Division for over 60 years and was their chairman until very recently. He had also been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Our sincere condolences go out to all Roger's family at this difficult time.
British Powerlifting is the only UK powerlifting organisation that has a fully WADA compliant anti-doping programme, which is independently administered by the IPF. All of our anti-doping testing is carried out at our own expense. Elite GB lifters are selected by the IPF for inclusion in the Registered Testing Pool (RT) along with 144 lifters in the Testing Pool and National Testing Pool.
