In accordance with British Powerlifting Articles of Association the Board have made the following changes to Ranking and Records as follows.
These new changes were agreed by the board and are effective as of 9th February 2024.
a. If a lifter receives a WADA ban, any previous British records to be removed for that lifter.
b. If a lifter receives a WADA ban, the lifter is removed from the British ranking for that year.
c. If a lifter competes at an equipped championships or in place of an equipped lifter they will be treated as an equipped lifter and only be eligible for their lifts to qualify for equipped records, equipped ranking and equipped qualification.
d. Equipped records can only be broken at an equipped championships or at a competition where a lifter is designated as equipped
British Powerlifting is the only UK powerlifting organisation that has a fully WADA compliant anti-doping programme, which is independently administered by the IPF. All of our anti-doping testing is carried out at our own expense. Elite GB lifters are selected by the IPF for inclusion in the Registered Testing Pool (RT) along with 144 lifters in the Testing Pool and National Testing Pool.
