British Powerlifting is Recruiting

BRITISH POWERLIFTING IS RECRUITING

British Powerlifting is currently recruiting for two paid positions and three voluntary roles. A further voluntary Safeguarding Lead position will be advertised shortly.

We are particularly pleased that we are now recruiting two paid roles. British Powerlifting has grown considerably, and these posts will give us dedicated professional capacity alongside the work of our volunteers.

PAID ROLES

Administrator / Secretary

This is a fully remote, part-time role of approximately 14 hours per week, initially offered on a one-year contract.

The successful applicant will support the day-to-day administration of British Powerlifting and work directly with me as CEO. The work includes correspondence, meeting administration, record-keeping, member enquiries, competition support and helping to prepare reports and communications.

This would suit somebody who is highly organised, communicates clearly and can manage a varied workload independently. It offers flexible remote work and the opportunity to gain broad experience across the operations and governance of a national sporting organisation.

High Performance Lead

This is a paid strategic leadership role within the British Powerlifting International Programme. The expected commitment is approximately two days per week, averaging 14–16 hours per week across 40 weeks of the year.

The High Performance Lead will bring our international teams together within one consistent programme. They will support and manage our International Head Coaches, improve selection and review processes, develop shared standards and help strengthen athlete experience, coach development and long-term performance planning.

The focus is programme leadership and management. The postholder will have the opportunity to shape the future of international powerlifting within Britain and work closely with the CEO, Board, Head Coaches and other national leads. The workload is annualised, with clear boundaries around the role and flexibility across quieter and busier periods.

VOLUNTARY ROLES

Membership Registrar

The Membership Registrar helps members with enquiries and maintains accurate membership records through Sport80. The role also includes checking international lifter and coach memberships, managing complimentary memberships and supporting membership refunds and data requests.

This is a useful opportunity for somebody with good customer-service, administrative and data skills. It provides direct experience of membership operations, Sport80 and the systems behind a national governing body. Support is available while the successful applicant becomes familiar with the platform.

Safeguarding Committee Member

Our Safeguarding Committee helps develop policies, review standards and provide guidance and resources across British Powerlifting. It works with other committees and organisational leads to maintain and improve safeguarding practice.

This role gives people with safeguarding experience an opportunity to use their knowledge directly within sport and help create a safe environment for our members. Applicants must be British Powerlifting members and have relevant safeguarding experience.

Law and Legislation Committee Member

The Law and Legislation Committee advises on the interpretation of our constitution, by-laws and policies. It also helps resolve issues at an early stage and identifies where our rules or procedures could be improved.

This is particularly suited to members with a legal or commercial background. It offers a practical way to contribute professional skills to British Powerlifting, including for those who may find it difficult to volunteer regularly at competitions.
