British Powerlifting Coaching Courses
Our Level 1 and Level 2 Courses are open to those with an interest and experience in weight training for health and Powerlifting development. Professional development training enables people to develop their skills and become more confident in doing their job. Our Continued Professional Development (CPD) training aims to contribute to helping people grow and improve their knowledge and skills through a range of training options. Both our Level 1 and Level 2 Courses are endorsed by PD: Approval. As a training provider, we fully support the continued professional development of our training and assessment team.

The GB Powerlifting Federation/British Powerlifting will commit to offer the highest quality of training possible to deliver a safe and effective method of Strength Training to their clients, themselves or other trainers.. We will do this by ensuring that we take into account each learner’s needs and learning styles. All learners will be given the opportunity to provide feedback. We commit to address any issues raised. We will also provide up-to-date research and give an assurance that all tutors will be occupationally competent.

Our available courses are CIMSPA accredited, meaning they are recognised as an endorsed fitness qualification within the wider sporting and fitness industry.

Attendees on our coaching courses will:
- Learn to deliver safe and effective coaching practices.
- Learn to deliver training programmes and coaching applications.
- A British Powerlifting Coaching attainment certificate.
- Be rated if successful as proficient to deliver safe and effective training programmes.
- For each core powerlifting/strength building activity and their appropriate adaptation learn to deliver safely and effectively.
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a British Powerlifting Coach and the rules by which the sport of Powerlifting is governed.
- Be able to provide appropriate training programmes to novice, intermediate and advanced Lifters.
- Be able to differentiate between various trainee’s leverages, anatomical differences, abilities, aspirations and experience and deliver coaching advice in an appropriate manner.

Payment Options
Our Level 1 (Assistant Coach) course costs £350. Students are eligible for a 10% discount on the full advertised price.
We appreciate that a large upfront payment is not accessible to everyone. So we have some alternative payment options if you still want to do the course:
- You can pay us in three instalments, with at least one payment before the first day of the course.
- For students, flexibility can be given regarding expected student finance dates. We may be able to defer your payment until student finance arrives.
Please note, that unless individually agreed, unless a payment is made before the expected date, we reserve the right to offer your space on the course to somebody else.
Payment Policy
Once your application has been reviewed, you will be sent an email containing payment details for you to make payment for the course. Please note, that until full payment is received, or if engaging in a payment plan, at least one payment instalment has been received, your place on the course is not confirmed. If you apply, but don’t make payment, and somebody else applies afterwards and pays before you, they confirm their spot over you.
If you need to cancel your space on the course, you will receive a full refund up if you cancel up to 7 days before the first day of the course. If you cancel between 3 and 7 days before the first day of the course, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within 3 days of the first day of the course, you will not receive a refund.
COACHING LICENSE – How To Apply, Regulations
To register as a qualified British Powerlifting coach you will be required to apply through the British Powerlifting Membership platform, provided through Sport80.
