IWGA Athlete of the Year

It is that time of the year again and we have once again one of our own athletes as candidate for the IWGA Athlete of the Year 2019 competition, Rhaea Stinn from Canada.

The last 2 years we placed 2nd and came very close to winning, this year let us show the world, IWGA and IOC that our sport Powerlifting can win! It is very important to vote to show the popularity of the sport.

From Monday 20th January 2020 at 16:00 CET, only the 10 highest ranked candidates at that time will continue in the race. They will keep the votes earned by then. Voting ends on Thursday, 30 January 2020 at 15 CET.

The winner and runners-up will be announced on 30th January 2020.

You can give your votes to the candidates on The World Games website once per 24 hours. Votes must be given each time to two candidates: 2 votes to your first-choice candidate and 1 vote to your second-choice candidate. If you try to give votes to one candidate only, the votes will not be registered. The numbers of votes cast for each candidate will be visible throughout the campaign.

Please visit https://www.theworldgames.org/news/The-World-Games-17/Athlete-of-the-Year-2019-1982 to vote.

British Powerlifting is the only UK powerlifting organisation that has a fully WADA compliant anti-doping programme, which is independently administered by the IPF. All of our anti-doping testing is carried out at our own expense. Elite GB lifters are selected by the IPF for inclusion in the Registered Testing Pool (RT) along with 144 lifters in the Testing Pool and National Testing Pool. All are subject to Out of Competition Testing (OCT). Read More >
