New International Selection Procedure Announcement
After a lot of deliberation, a new International Selection Procedure has been formulated and will apply for 2017. The procedures can be found Policy Documents.
The International Selection Sub-Committee comprises: Tanya Bull, Ricky Mullan, Marc Giles, Ian Finch, Martin Bass.
Anti Doping Rule Violation
ANTI DOPING RULE VIOLATION (ADRV)
Mr Robert Hazelton was selected for anti-doping testing at a NI Raw Power Competition 18th June 2016 and his A Sample was found to contain terbutaline, which is listed as a beta-2 agonist (S3) under the 2016 Prohibited List of the WADA Code. No request for B sample testing was made and no TUE submitted. This is a violation GBPF Anti-Doping Policy (Feb 2016).
The Disciplinary Committee have therefore ruled Mr Hazelton be ineligible to be a member of, or take part in any British Powerlifting competition, for a period of four years effective from June 18th 2016

British Powerlifting is the only UK powerlifting organisation that carries out independent WADA compliant drug testing. In 2017 we conducted some 140 anti-doping tests, all at our own expense. GB lifters in World Championships are registered with the IPF for Out of Competition Testing (OCT).
