We have pleasure in announcing the appointment of Nicola Elding as Communications Director.
Nicola Elding works full time at Thomas Cook Head Office and is married to Chris Elding a former BAWLA Divisional champion. Her dad, Mike Davies, competed in the first International between the UK and USA and the BAWLA team he was in, as British Champion, won. She has always been involved in powerlifting and was part of the erstwhile BAWLA team in Slovakia and the Ukraine. This year she was the English Bench Press Champion M2 72 KG, coached by her mum Maureen, who also coached Mike. Nicola was promoted to National Referee earlier this year.
As well as heading up our communications, an important job is to re-launch the Magazine and her previous experience with national newspapers and publishing a divisional newsletter will be invaluable. Please feel free to contact Nicola via communications@britishpowerlifting.org with any contributions for the newsletter or if you are able to help.
We wish Nicola every success in this important position and ask all members to give her their full support.
British Powerlifting is the only UK powerlifting organisation that has a fully WADA compliant anti-doping programme, which is independently administered by the IPF. All of our anti-doping testing is carried out at our own expense. Elite GB lifters are selected by the IPF for inclusion in the Registered Testing Pool (RT) along with 144 lifters in the Testing Pool and National Testing Pool. All are subject to Out of Competition Testing (OCT). Read More >
